Welcome To Plainview, Minnesota!
You'll never be far from some of the most breathtaking scenery in southeastern Minnesota when you visit Plainview! This small town-uniquely situated where rolling prairie meets the hardwood forest is anything but ordinary! Plainview is twenty minutes from everywhere! The Mississippi River lies fourteen miles east of Plainview while the Richard J. Dorer Memorial Hardwood Forest - which encompasses tens of thousands of acres of reclaimed wetlands, bluffs and valleys - is less than five miles from Plainview's city limits. With the Zumbro and Whitewater Rivers flowing through the Forest, the surrounding public parks offer visiters to the region unparalleled recreational opportunities.
Chamber Businesses in the News
Marie's Ribbons and Roses floral shop and Schad & Zabel Fine Furniture in downtown Plainview merged and opened as a new business back in January. Now the Rochester Post-Bulletin has an artcile on the merger as part of a series about businesses that are taking the bold step to reinvest and grow in preparation for the coming economic recovery. Floral and furniture businesses join forces.
Governor Tim Pawlenty made a visit to Plainview and met with both Chamber members and residents. View our gallery of pictures from the Governor's visit.
